The 208, the Clio, the Twingo, the Citroën C3 and C4 have not left French factories for a long time. They are manufactured in Slovakia, Turkey, Spain… Could their cousins ​​equipped with an electric battery reappear on French production lines?

French manufacturers have all outsourced the manufacture of entry-level vehicles. Peugeot closed its Aulnay-sous-Bois plant eleven years ago, where Citroën Visa, AX, Saxo, C3s and Peugeot 104, 205 and 106 were assembled. For his part, Carlos Ghosn, at the head of Renault, wanted to draw the curtain from 2009 on the Flins plant, cradle of the Clio, the Twingo then the ZOE, a pioneer in electrics. He had given it up after being summoned to the Élysée. But, in 2020, the same diagnosis was made for the future of this historic Renault site, which was converted in extremis to the circular economy.
