Shortly after the second week of the winter holidays and observing the influx of people of all ages who have come to the province from different parts of the country and abroad, the sectors linked to tourism activity have begun to consider the possibility of expanding and improving the range of services offered in order to make tourism a permanent source of income throughout the year. To achieve this objective, there are a series of improvements that must be implemented, imitating, in a certain way, the tourist development of the Argentine North, beyond what the centers that are traditional in the country have achieved in recent seasons.

In the case of San Juan, there are some inconveniences that remain, such as the lack of attractions along the routes or tourist circuits, as well as greater services in the busiest tourist destinations, with greater sustaining of the offer for longer periods of time and not only for short periods. Tourism must be understood as a long-term investment that achieves its returns in the permanence of the offer and not a second-hand business for a short season.

Within the capital city and its surroundings, there is a need to have a greater number of restaurants or diners, as well as cafes open during a large part of the day. The trade of certain consumer products for visitors should also have special attention, as well as the entrance to the main attractions such as the Casa de Sarmiento, the Cathedral, the Bicentennial Theater and other points of the fair, artistic and cultural proposal that is offered in the center of the city.

On the so-called wine and olive oil routes, beyond the established destination points, the tourist needs to have other attractions promoted by the communities through which they pass. Better signage, the development of gastronomy and the exploitation of properly arranged public places could contribute to making the walks more entertaining and that the communities located in these routes have a source of income in the sale of regional and native products.

The third objective is to improve traffic to the most remote departments and promote the availability of inns along the way and even transitory lodgings where you can spend the night or spend a brief stay. In the destination places, in addition to the lodging and adventure tourism offer that is generally carried out, add social and cultural activities in a systematic manner and based on a previously disseminated program.

It is a fact that investments in this area should aim to expand the lodging offer, but also to promote them, it is necessary to offer an environment that is inviting beyond the natural beauties of each area. Shows like the ones offered every year on Cerro Alcázar, in the town of Tamberías, in Calingasta, are a sample of how inviting initiatives like this can be. The same as in Valle Fértil when traditional festivities such as that of the goat are held or the moonlit nocturnal excursion that is gaining more and more followers is carried out in the Valley of the Moon.
