Jeddah: The King Abdul Aziz Gate in Makkah Haram has been renovated and opened to pilgrims and visitors. The gate was inaugurated by the head of the Iruharam office, Dr. Performed by Abdurrahman Alsudais. This will make it easier for pilgrims and visitors to enter and exit the shrine. After inaugurating the gate, the head of the Iruharam office said that the government is keen to provide better services to the Iruharams with the aim of ‘Vision 2030’.

He thanked those involved in the implementation of the project. The King Abdul Aziz Gate, one of the main gates of the Haram, was renovated as part of the Matwaf development project. The Iruharam office has already opened more gates in view of the influx of pilgrims during Ramadan. It is reported that 100 of the total gates have been opened. The 48 gates are for those who come to worship. Of these, 17 gates are in the third Saudi development area, 23 in the King Fahad development area and seven in the Masa area.

There are 38 gates for Umrah pilgrims only. Of these, 13 are on the King Fahad development side, six on the King Abdul Aziz (Ajiad) side and 19 on the Masya side. The four gates are for the emergency services of the pilgrims. 10 are also reserved for special services. The second Saudi development area will have 35 places of worship for men and 30 for women. The Crowd Management Division under the Iruharam Office has also deployed 330 staff to manage the movement of pilgrims and visitors.
