The Palmeral de las Sorpresas will once again look like a replica of the deck of a large ship in the new edition of the Málaga Cruise Days event, which will be held on September 21, 22 and 23.
In its debut in 2022, this event managed to capture the attention of the community, having a participation of more than 110,000 visitors. The main objective is to familiarize the general public with the cruise industry, a sector that has been successful in Malaga thanks to its welcoming and warm atmosphere.
In order to promote this type of activity, the representative entities of the port and the city, made up of the Port Authority of Málaga, the Tourism Area of the City Council of Malaga, Tourism and Planning Costa del Sol, and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Junta de Andalucía, in collaboration with Suncruise Andalucía, Fundación Málagaport and Málaga Cruise Port, have decided to re-introduce a new edition. Thanks to this initiative, both residents and visitors will be able to experience first-hand the different activities offered by a cruise in a privileged coastal setting.
Specifically, the event is being scheduled for the evening and night hours, between 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. The event comes with proposals for all audiences, which include musical presentations, gastronomic tastings, activities for children, a culinary fair and a forum dedicated to cruise lovers, among other elements that will be announced soon.
Apart from promoting tourism, this event will serve as a prelude to a next cycle, in which, in addition to maintaining relationships with cruise lines by attending other sectoral meetings, the organization of Seatrade and the local team focused on the port and destiny will dedicate themselves to planning a new edition of this professional event. It is estimated that the new edition will take place in September 2024, in conjunction with the already consolidated edition of Málaga Cruise Days.
On the other hand, the Port of Málaga has awarded Geocaminos the adaptation works for piers 4 and 5 with which it will favor the parking of semi-trailers and trucks in said logistics platforms. The initiative will be carried out for an amount of 121,001.22 euros and with an execution period of 45 days.
