Malappuram: In Malappuram’s Kalpakancheri, a woman killed her children and committed suicide, her husband was arrested on charges of domestic violence. Kalpakanchery police arrested Nabamat Rashidali, a native of Chettiamkinar. Rashid’s wife Safwa hanged herself in her husband’s house after killing her children aged one and four. She committed suicide after sending a text message describing domestic violence to her husband’s phone.
Safwa’s family had also alleged that the young woman committed suicide due to harassment at her husband’s house. “Safwa had sent a voice message about mental and physical abuse. On the morning of the day when she was found dead, Safwa had said goodbye to her husband. The brother said that when he checked Safwa’s phone, he found an audio message saying that he can tolerate beatings and cannot tolerate stabbing words. The family also alleged that they were informed about the death at four o’clock but late.
The deceased Fatima Marzeeva was four years old and Maryam was one year old. The death of his wife and children was informed by the husband Rashid Ali to the locals. Safwa and her children were sleeping in one room and Rashid Ali was in another room. Rashid Ali came to the room where Safwa and his children were sleeping when Safwa was missing even though it was the usual time to get up and saw the incident. They were immediately taken to Kottakal hospital with the help of locals, but all three died.
