New Delhi: Malayalee Eldos Paul became the first Indian player to reach the finals of the World Athletics Championship. India’s Rohit Yadav also reached the final after Neeraj Chopra in javelin throw. Yadav advanced to the final by finishing 11th with a throw of 80.42 meters.

Andersen Peter of Granada came first in the qualifying round. The achievement was achieved by throwing the javelin to a distance of 89.91 meters. Neeraj Chopra, who crossed the qualification mark in the first round, covered a distance of 88.39 meters.

The qualifying mark for the javelin throw final is 85.30 meters. If no one wins this, the top 12 performers in both the qualification rounds will enter the finals.
