Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia Elections for 222 seats in Parliament were held yesterday. The majority wants 112 seats. Elections in two constituencies have been postponed. According to the finally available figures, the opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim’s alliance is leading when 83.8 percent of the votes were counted. Although his alliance won 74 seats, it is estimated that it may not complete the majority. Former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yass’s alliance is close behind with 72 seats.

At the same time, Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yacob’s coalition won only 28 seats. Ismail Sabri Yacob dissolved the Malaysian Parliament last month. With this, the general elections that were to be held next year were brought forward.
