Kochi : An Air India flight made an emergency landing at the Nedumbassery airport due to a fault in the hydraulic system. An Air India Express flight carrying 193 passengers from Sharjah to Nedumbassery made an emergency landing at Nedumbassery airport around 8:30. Before landing, the pilot sought permission for an emergency landing after seeing a fault in the hydraulic system. An emergency was immediately declared in and around the airport and nearby hospitals were alerted. But the plane landed safely at 8.26 am. Officials said that none of the passengers were injured and the plane landed safely. The passengers came to know about the incident only after they got off the plane. The aircraft will be serviced only after the DGCA inspection is completed.

Similarly, the Air India flight that left Sharjah for Kozhikode yesterday was returned after an hour of flight. Flight AI 998, which departed from Sharjah at 11.45 last night, was turned back after noticing a technical problem. The passengers were released. About an hour after departure, the pilot informed the passengers about the technical failure of the plane. The plane landed within minutes. The passengers responded that there was an unusual noise while the plane was taking off.
