Malhounyat Festival of Azemmour: The 12th edition celebrates the declaration of Malhoune as intangible cultural heritage of humanity

Azemmour – The 12th edition of the Malhounyat International Festival, scheduled for September 5-7 in Azemmour, will be dedicated to the celebration of the inscription of Malhoune, last December, on the list of intangible cultural heritage of humanity of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the organizers said.

This cultural event is initiated by the Provincial Association of Cultural Affairs of El Jadida (APAC) with the support of the OCP Group and under the aegis of the Province of El Jadida.

According to a statement from the organizers, this edition, organized in cooperation with the Academy of the Kingdom, the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, the Casablanca-Settat region, the Provincial Council of El Jadida and the municipality of Azemmour, will see the participation of artists Redwan El Asmar, Cheickh Hamza Boukhlifi, Chaymae Erredaf, Haj Benkhama, Troupe “Griha Roudania”, Troupe “Jnane Nebbi de l’art Beldi”, Abdelkrim Sadiki, Mustapha Khlifi, Zakaria Moufid, Said Belmekki, Abdelhadi Benghanem and Driss Zaarouri.

On the academic level, the same source specified, the Malhounyat Festival will debate a current theme through the central question: “What to do after the recognition of Malhoune as an intangible heritage of humanity by UNESCO?”.
