Regarding the government’s decision to suspend the activity of political parties and the political activities of associations, Diop said: “This measure aims to create favorable conditions for the implementation of the main measures of the transitional phase, including dialogue between Malians for peace and reconciliation.”

The Ministry also quoted the Chairman of the Steering Committee for the Inter-Malian Dialogue for Peace and Reconciliation, Ousmane Issofi Maiga, as saying: “The dialogue will be characterized by the comprehensive participation of all Malians wherever they are, and will be open to all issues of national concern aimed at promoting the restoration of peace, social cohesion and national reconciliation.” “.
