Malika Ayane is the most anticipated star of the first evening of EcoFest Napoli 2022, scheduled for 21 and 22 June at Castel Sant’Elmo and at the Certosa di San Martino. The Milanese singer-songwriter will perform in concert tomorrow at 9.30 pm in the Piazza d’Armi of Castel Sant’Elmo for an exhibition that promises to be sui generis. Accompanying the unmistakable voice of Malika Ayane will be the symphonic rhythmic orchestra of the San Pietro a Majella conservatory composed of sixteen elements. The artist, winner of the coveted Mia Martini critics’ award in Sanremo twice, returns to her classical origins.
The beginnings in the choir
Before the pop turning point, Malika Ayane was in fact in the children’s choir of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. Born as a dramatic soprano and cellist, the Moroccan-born singer has been recognized over the years as one of the most sensual voices of the contemporary Italian pop scene. Starting with the unforgettable Come Leaves, a song written by the Negramaro frontman Giuliano Sangiorgi, with which in 2009 he won his first platinum record, passing through the interpretation of Evita Pern in Massimo Romeo Piparo’s musical, Evita, up to the successes of her latest studio album, the sixth in her career, Manifesto, with which she also won yet another platinum. Not just music. In 2019 Malika Ayane also participated in the talent X Factor as a judge. While the single Un po ‘pi in l, competing at the last Sanremo festival, she is among the candidates for the soundtrack of the XXV Winter Olympic Games to be held from 6 to 22 February 2026 in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo.
In view of the Ayane concert, at the request of the municipality of Naples, ANM will extend the service of the Central funicular with last run at 02.00 and will keep the escalator system open to reach San Martino. Furthermore, from 6.00 pm until the end of the concert, Via Tito Angelini will be closed to vehicular traffic.
