Insecurity has become a more than worrying phenomenon in Guinea. Armed attacks, theft, rape, kidnappings, assassinations and other disappearances are recurrent. A 40-year-old man named Mamadou Maladho Barry, married without children, has been lost to sight of his family since Sunday August 20, 2023 in Wonkifon in Coyah prefecture.

Questioned by one of our reporters in the afternoon of this Friday August 25, his brother Abdoulaye Barry confirmed the information. “It is effective. We lost sight of our brother Mamadou Maladho since last Sunday at 6 p.m. He trades and from time to time he does a motorbike taxi. That day, his motorbike broke down, he went home to ask his wife to take out some money for him to go to the garage. After the garage, he picked up a passenger for an unknown destination. And so far, no one has seen him. That’s worrying, his phone numbers no longer go through. We don’t know if he was kidnapped or what happened to him. We have carried out multiple searches but we cannot find him“, he began.

Continuing, our interlocutor said that the authorities, in particular the police, the gendarmerie and the central management of the judicial police, have been seized.

“The security services have opened an investigation to try to find him. According to the information we gathered where he works, he had no history with anyone. We ask the authorities of the country to help us find our brother. If people are holding him somewhere, we urge them to release him. Anyone who finds him is asked to contact the nearest administrative or security authorities. The family can be reached at 620473948“, he launched.

Mamadou Maladho Barry is from Fattorguil in the Kegnébè district of the Ourékaba sub-prefecture, Mamou prefecture in Middle Guinea.
