Mamata Banerjee Open to Alliance with Congress and Left Parties in Bengal

Kolkata: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has opened the doors for a possible alliance with the Congress and Left parties in Bengal. In a recent statement, Mamata expressed her willingness for an open discussion regarding the formation of an alliance with these parties.

“In Bengal, Trinamool Congress, Left parties, and Congress can be allies. I don’t mind if they mean well. They have only two seats in Bengal. I am ready for an open discussion,” said Mamata Banerjee.

Mamata’s statement comes in light of the upcoming meeting of India Front on December 19, where she hopes that all parties will stand together. “It is believed that we will get an opportunity to discuss the seat allocation issues in detail. I think most of the political parties will be ready to exchange seats. Sometimes one or two parties may not be ready,” Mamata added.

Furthermore, Mamata addressed the question of who will be the prime ministerial candidate of India Front, stating that it will be decided only after the 2024 elections.

In addition, Mamata commented on the recent controversy surrounding Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra, who was accused of taking bribes to ask questions in Parliament. “This case is very unfortunate. They were not allowed to defend themselves. When the opposition raises ideas, they are dismissed. If you are in BJP, you will be very good,” Mamata remarked.

With Mamata Banerjee’s openness to forming an alliance with the Congress and Left parties and the upcoming meeting of India Front, the political landscape in Bengal is set to witness significant developments in the coming days.
