“It is time for everyone to stand together.”

The 72-year-old actor said, ‘Filmmakers should be cautious to prevent anything untoward from happening in this case. Justice Hema Committee was formed by the government to know about the film industry, prepare a report, give advice and take action if anything is wrong. I wholeheartedly welcome and support all the suggestions and solutions highlighted in that report. Now the time has come for all the associations of the film industry to stand together to implement them.’

‘Let the police investigate and let the court decide the punishment’

The actor has requested everyone to let the police do their investigation and let the court decide the punishment. He said, ‘The police investigation is going on strongly in the complaints that have just come up. The full version of the Justice Hema Committee report is before the court. Let the police investigate honestly. Let the court decide the punishment. There is no ‘power center’ in the film.’

Cinema must stay alive…

The superstar said, “If there are legal hurdles then the recommendations of the Hema Committee report should be implemented. After all, cinema must survive.”

Mohanlal had given his opinion a day before

Mammootty’s statement came just a day after Mohanlal’s reaction to the report. He said, ‘The Hema Committee report is welcome. I have appeared before the committee twice. My request is – please do not destroy the industry. We welcome the Hema Committee report. It was the right decision of the government to release that report.’

‘Everyone cannot be blamed for this’

Reflecting on his role, he said, “I was the president of AMMA for the last two terms. The entire Malayalam cinema is accountable to the Hema committee report. What we are seeing is that all the questions are being asked only to AMMA. AMMA cannot answer all the questions. These questions should be asked to everyone. This is a very hardworking industry. There are many people involved in it, but everyone cannot be blamed for this. Those responsible will be punished.”
