The Attorney General’s Office has charged Jorge Enrique Pulido Gaviria with the crime of aggravated femicide, after collecting evidence linking him to the death of his wife, which occurred on October 10, 2018 in Santa Marta (Magdalena).
Initially, Pulido Gaviria claimed that his wife had jumped from the 17th floor of their apartment in the middle of an argument. However, the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) took over the investigation and interviewed relatives of the victim, who ruled out the possibility of suicide.

The National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences determined that the woman was not under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication at the time of her death. In addition, investigators performed analysis and 3D reconstructions of the crime scene, concluding that Pulido Gaviria’s version did not match the evidence collected.
“Investigators performed physical analyses and 3D reconstructions of the scene, which were compared with other evidence; and they concluded that Pulido Gaviria was lying. His initial version does not match the one found and everything points to him being responsible for the death,” the Prosecutor’s Office said.
Following these findings, Pulido Gaviria was arrested and charged with the crime of aggravated femicide. The accused did not accept the charges and, by order of a judge, will remain in a prison under preventive detention.
