He posted the video using a fake Twitter ID. Twitter officials have passed information to police. Last night, Twitter shared information about the person who created the fake profile and circulated the video to the Kochi police commissioner. Police suspect that he also circulated the video on Facebook. Police have sought information from Facebook officials.

Police believe that questioning him will shed light on where the footage was collected from. It is noteworthy that the police arrested the person who uploaded the video on the polling day in Thrikkakara by-election.

The spread of fake footage was a major topic of discussion during the election campaign. Police have arrested several people for spreading the video. This includes Congress office bearers. Opposition leader VD Satheesan had criticized the government for not arresting the person who uploaded the video. Satheesan’s response was that if the people who uploaded the video were caught, the plaintiff would become the accused. Meanwhile, police have arrested a man with league sympathies.
