Man Bites Elderly Man to Escape After Supermarket Theft – Bolzano

BOLZANO. He steals from a supermarket and bites the arm of a passerby who tried to stop him. The eventful morning cost a 27-year-old stopped by the police a report and an expulsion order. On Saturday morning, police patrols were alerted to a report of a theft at the Despar supermarket in Via Amba Alagi.

There were also two witnesses on the scene who had been chasing the 27-year-old since he left the supermarket. The North African citizen, after knocking the older man to the ground, managed to snatch the bag from his hand, and then ran away, but his run lasted only a few meters.

He was in fact stopped shortly after by the two witnesses, later helped by the military until the police arrived. AZ, a Moroccan with various criminal and police records, illegal in Italy, taken to the police station immediately admitted to having stolen various goods from the supermarket, and to having been stopped by an elderly passerby.

To free herself from his grip, she had pushed him, bit him on the arm and knocked him to the ground to gain her escape.

The stolen goods were returned and the 27-year-old was reported for theft and personal injury.
