A tragic start to the new year in San Francisco as a man died after suffering firework-related injuries barely an hour after 2022 arrived. The San Francisco Police Department reported that at approximately 12:40 a.m. on Monday, officers responded to a report of someone injured by fireworks in the 1200 block of Exposition Drive on Treasure Island.

Upon arriving at the scene, authorities found a man with life-threatening injuries. Despite receiving first aid, the victim was pronounced dead by paramedics who arrived shortly after.
