Man murdered in Polanco by direct attack; MH mayor’s office rules out assault

A man was shot dead in a direct attack when he apparently got out of a van in the colony Polanco Third Sectionin the Miguel Hidalgo municipality.

Through social media, Mayor Mauricio Tabe confirmed the death of a man from a direct attack.

“It was not an attempted robbery or assault. The videos show that when the victim opened the door of his vehicle, the attackers carried out the attack and ran away,” he wrote.

Regarding this case, personnel from the capital’s Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC) learned of a person dead from gunshot wounds, after receiving a report of gunshots.

Police went to Oliver Goldsmith Street, corner with Carlos Dickens, where they observed a man at the driver’s door of a black van, with traces of blood, so they requested emergency services.

Paramedics who arrived at the scene diagnosed the man, approximately 50 years old, with no vital signs due to a gunshot wound to the head, the SSC reported.

For this reason, the area was cordoned off and the Public Prosecutor’s Office was notified for the corresponding expert services and investigations of the case.

According to initial reports, the man was getting out of the possibly armored truck when two men approached and fired directly at him. Authorities are analyzing video surveillance cameras in the area to identify the alleged perpetrator.
