Man shot in townhouse in Upplands Väsby

A man was shot in a townhouse in Upplands Väsby on Tuesday night. The incident occurred around 22.31 when one or more shots were fired through a window by a perpetrator who was outside the property.

“We received several calls from people who were in the property and had witnessed the shooting. We believe that the man has been hit by one or more shots that have been fired from the outside through a glass pane in the front door or a side pane in the door,” said Ola Österling, press spokesperson at the Stockholm Police.

The injured man managed to alert the police himself and is not expected to have life-threatening injuries, but was taken to hospital by ambulance. Several family members were reportedly in the home during the shooting, but no one else was injured.

An extensive police operation is underway in the area, but by midnight no one had been arrested for the attempted murder.

“No one has been arrested and at the moment I cannot comment on whether we have any suspects, but we assume that the incident is connected in one way or another to the criminal networks,” Österling added.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact the police.
