On Sunday evening at around 20:15, a passer-by discovered a man who had been stabbed at least twice near Grevedämmet in Mölndal. The victim, a young man in his 20s, was stabbed in the abdomen and groin and received help from the public by having pressure applied to his wounds. When the police and ambulance arrived, he was awake and able to speak. However, the extent of his injuries is currently unknown. It was around 20.15 on Sunday evening that the police were alerted to an address near Grevedämmet in Mölndal. At the scene, a passer-by had discovered an injured man, who had been stabbed at least twice.

– It must be a young guy, in his 20s, who has been stabbed. We went there and were able to ascertain that the man had been stabbed in the abdomen and groin, says Jon Franzén, officer on duty at police region West.

The man is said to have received help from the public on the spot, including by putting pressure on the wounds, and he was awake and able to speak when the police and ambulance arrived. In addition to that, the damage status is unclear.

The police have an ongoing search operation in the area for possible perpetrators. No one has yet been arrested.

– We classify the crime as serious assault at the moment. But that may change, says Jon Franzén.
