He almost didn’t contact the lottery company at all – until he checked his lottery ticket and almost lost his faith. Now a lucky Australian has made a strange resolution.
He was speechless, it is said about the man from the Australian island of Tasmania, who just won 30 million Australian dollars (approx. 18 million euros) in the lottery. The lucky guy, who understandably wishes to remain anonymous, had not played online but with a traditional lottery ticket, so the lottery waited for the winner to verify his numbers and come forward. That almost didn’t happen, because the Tasmanian hadn’t expected to win at all. Especially not with one that big.
Lottery winner wants to provide for his family
The man primarily wants to use the money to secure his family. “Now I have the money for a new house, I can take care of my family. I want everyone to be well,” he said. That shouldn’t be a problem with this win. Each family member would probably even have their own little house in there… There was only one lottery win of this magnitude in Tasmania when an islander hit the Powerball lottery jackpot in 2018. Even the kiosk seller who accepted the million ticket is happy for the winner: “Everyone always jokes that they should have a winning lottery ticket. Now I’ve really sold one!”

Collect luxury or travel into space: this is what the super-rich do in their free time
The Tasmanian has also made a rather surprising resolution – and has already put it into practice: “I know that I won $ 30 million, but I want to keep playing the lottery every week,” he reveals. “I’ve already filled out the next form.” It should be clear that it is probably more about habit and thrills – because the man no longer has money worries.
