Manama: Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority Chief Executive Officer Dr. Nasser Qaadi said. He was speaking at a meeting held to review the progress of the souq renovation works. Most of the visitors visit the souq during winter. The renovation is targeted to be completed before this.
Dr. Manama will continue to organize various programs in the market. Qaadi said. The Babul Bahrain Fashion Show and the Manama Gold Festival were huge successes. These programs managed to attract many visitors. Many visitors also participated in the tour programs organized to introduce Manama Souq to people. He said that he intends to continue such tour programs.
There are also plans to renovate the historic cafes and public spaces of Manama Souq. Various programs will also be organized at Old Municipal Square and Tawaveesh Square. Members of Manama Souq Development Committee also attended the meeting. Ibrahim Dawood Nuno, a committee member, said once the renovation is completed, the souq’s uniqueness and historical, religious and commercial features will be preserved.
