But on the eve of the match, Chelsea were awarded a penalty after a clumsy involvement from Diogo Dalot. Cole Palmer scored on the second penalty kick of the day.

And the pain got worse ten minutes into overtime. Palmer clinched the ball into the goal, via a Manchester United defender.

Erik ten Hag thought the team deserved three points.
