The quarter-final games of the English League Cup were closed yesterday (Wednesday) and except for the big surprise when Southampton stunned Manchester City by beating them 0:2 we got another drama. Nottingham Forest met Wolves and beat them 3:4 in penalties.

The game started well for the Reds, who took the lead in the 18th minute from the feet of Willy Boley, and later in the half, Nottingham was close to doubling the lead. The Wolves got into business in the second half and in the 64th minute Raul Jimenez found the net and balanced the result that lasted 120 minutes. In the penalty shootout, Nottingham came out on top after Robin Nevesh and Joseph Hodge missed for Wolves and were kicked out of the League Cup.
