In Tamil Nadu tomorrow (8th), heavy to very heavy rain may occur at one or two places in 13 districts including Cuddalore, Villupuram, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, Thiruvallur, Chennai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam; The Chennai Meteorological Department has issued a warning of very heavy rain at a couple of places.
A low pressure area has formed over South Andaman and adjoining areas yesterday morning. It will move in a west-northwest direction and strengthen as a low pressure area this evening, according to the Chennai Meteorological Department.
It is predicted that it will continue to become a storm and may come near North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and the Andhra coastal region by tomorrow morning.

Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at many places over coastal districts of Tamil Nadu, Puduwai and Karaikal tomorrow and at a couple of places over interior districts of Tamil Nadu. Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Pudukottai districts and Karaikal regions received heavy rain at one or two places.
The day after tomorrow (8th), light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at most places over the coastal districts of Tamil Nadu, Puduwai and Karaikal and at a few places in the interior districts of Tamil Nadu. Cuddalore, Villupuram, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, Thiruvallur, Chennai, Kallakurichi, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Mayiladuthurai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam districts and Puducherry, Karaikal may witness heavy to very heavy rain; Very heavy rain has occurred at a couple of places. Iranipet, Vellore, Tirupattur, Thiruvannamalai, Tiruchirappalli, Pudukottai, Sivagangai and Ramanathapuram districts also received heavy rain at one or two places.

Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely at most places over Tamil Nadu, Puduwai and Karaikal on 9th. Heavy to very heavy rain at one or two places in Thiruvallur, Chennai, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Thiruvannamalai, Ranipet, Vellore, Tirupattur, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri and Salem districts, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Tiruchirappalli, Namakkal, Karur and Ero. Heavy rain is also likely at a few places in the districts and Puducherry areas.
Weather Forecast for Chennai and Suburbs: Skies will be partly cloudy for the next 24 hours. Light rain with thunder and lightning may occur at a few places. The maximum temperature will be around 31-32 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature will be around 25-26 degree Celsius.
