MADRID, 19 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The District Attorney for Manhattan (New York), Alvin Bragg, has warned his subordinates of possible threats and acts of intimidation after former President Donald Trump on Saturday called on his supporters to protest in his defense if the department finally decides charge the tycoon for the Stormy Daniels case.

“Our colleagues in the security forces will ensure that any specific or credible threat against our office is fully investigated, so that the 1,600 people who work here do so in a safe environment,” the prosecutor told his employees. through an internal memo published by the Politico portal.

The prosecutor does not mention Trump by name but refers to an “ongoing investigation conducted by this office” and reiterates his commitment to “apply the law fairly and equitably.” Similarly, he asks his subordinates to limit themselves to speaking in public “only when it is appropriate.”

Trump declared himself this Saturday convinced that he will be arrested next Tuesday as part of the investigation against him for the alleged payment of a bribe to the porn actress Stephanie Clifford, known as Stormy Daniels.

“They will arrest me on Tuesday,” Trump assured through his Truth Social social network in a message in which he cited an “illegal leak” without giving details about its origin, before calling on his followers to “protest” to “recover the country”.

In line with his traditional unfounded conspiracy theories, the former president assures that the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office that is conducting the investigation against him is financed by the Hungarian investor George Soros, a regular target of criticism from ultranationalist movements such as those defended by Trump during his mandate.

The Prosecutor’s Office had offered Trump the possibility of testifying in this case of alleged bribery and in which his lawyer, Michael Cohen, was an instrumental part by giving Clifford some $130,000 to keep quiet that he had alleged relations with the magnate almost 20 years ago; a management carried out irregularly by being hidden in the accounts of the Trump Organization, Trump’s company, during the 2016 electoral campaign.
