Manhunt underway for suspect Mavis Christian Jr. after string of deadly shootings in Memphis, police say
Memphis, Tennessee – A manhunt is underway for 52-year-old Mavis Christian Jr. after a series of shootings left four women dead and one in critical condition in Memphis, Tennessee, on Saturday evening, according to the Memphis Police Department.
Police responded to a report of a shooting on Howard Drive at approximately 9:22 p.m., where they discovered that the scene, along with two other recent shooting scenes, were connected and involved the same suspect, authorities said in a press release.
Christian was named as the suspect in connection to the shootings and is believed to have been driving a white 2017 Chevrolet Malibu, police said.
“If you see him or his vehicle, please call 911 immediately,” police said. “Do not approach or engage this individual, he is armed and extremely dangerous.”
The shootings are being investigated as a domestic violence incident, police said.
