Paris: Manish Narwal has won another medal for India at the Paris Paralympics. He performed brilliantly in the men’s 10 meter air pistol event and won the silver medal. Manish secured second place with 234.9 points. With this victory, 22-year-old Manish has become the sixth Indian athlete to win more than one medal in the history of Paralympic Games. Manish Narwal is a resident of Ballabhgarh, Haryana.
Manish won the medal even after a bad start
In the final, Manish Narwal faced Jeongdu Jo of South Korea and Chao Yang of China. Manish was a bit slow in the beginning and could only score 8.8 points in the first attempt. But the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics gold medalist made a brilliant comeback. In the final round for the gold medal, Manish scored 8.9 points, while Jeongdu scored a brilliant score of 10.8. In the last attempt, Manish scored 9.9 points, while the South Korean star scored 8.8 points. But due to the initial lag, Manish had to settle for the silver medal.

India has now won a total of four medals in the Paris Paralympics. Star shooter Avani Lekhara opened India’s account by winning the gold medal in the women’s 10 meter air rifle event. Mona Agarwal won the bronze medal in the same event. Apart from this, Preeti Pal won the bronze medal for India in the 100 meter T35 event. In this way, India has so far won one gold, one silver and one bronze.
