PM Mansour Abbas chairman was interviewed by Channel 12 and commented on the clashes at the Al-Aqsa Mosque: “The images from the mosque were extremely harsh, we read and we call for calm. We call on people to pray quietly and spiritually.”
Abbas also dismissed MK Mazen Ghanaim’s threat that he would resign from the coalition if the attack on al-Atska continued, saying: And we make our contribution to calm the spirits and bring the people closer together. “
He added: “Everyone who said that RAAM is the one who will create the crisis and dismantle the government – so far this has not been proven. We have a historic opportunity that we want to realize for the benefit of Arab society and for the benefit of all Israeli society.”
Abbas did not rule out parliamentary cooperation with the joint list to save the government: “No one expects from the joint list and I do not think it is realistic to ask them to join the coalition, but they certainly have certain interests, they also want to promote issues in Arab society and open government on this issue.”
