Mantes-la-Jolie: during an intervention, the RAID discovers the body of a man

by time news

A large police force was deployed this Sunday in Mantes-la-Jolie (Yvelines). The police took over part of rue Saint-Vincent in the afternoon. According to our information, it was a question of neutralizing one or more entrenched and possibly armed men. The accommodation would have become a squat since the death of the former owner.

The first police crews arrived around 3:45 p.m. in this suburban street with millstone houses, accompanied by fire ambulance vans. Dressed in intervention equipment and heavily armed, they were joined by a dozen vehicles belonging to their RAID colleagues who entered around 5.40 p.m. the security perimeter that had been set up in the meantime.

Little information filtered out during the late afternoon. Various sources indicate, however, that a man with injuries was found shortly before near the house near the place of the intervention by passers-by. He reportedly said he had been kidnapped with a friend and mentioned the presence of firearms in the house. This individual is about 30 years old.

After an attempt at negotiation, the RAID police officers finally blew up the door of the pavilion. According to the first elements collected, a deceased person aged 25 was found. She had been shot in the head and was not identified. The house actually seemed to house an arsenal. Several long guns were reportedly discovered.

Deminers were also called upon due to the presence of explosive devices. Shortly after 8 p.m., the system was still in place, but the intervention was “completed”, while emphasizing “the absence of risk for residents”.

The judicial police have been seized of the investigation.
