Manu Koné’s Future in Doubt as Transfer Talks Heat Up Amid Milan and Roma Interest

by time news

The French midfielder, after not being called up for the Moenchengladbach match, is close to leaving, but the chances of seeing him in Italy are diminishing.

Following the announcement from Borussia Moenchengladbach regarding the exclusion of Manu Koné from the list of call-ups “due to his imminent transfer to another club“, various rumors have emerged in Italy about a potential move to Milan or Roma. However, at the Rossoneri, the issue of roster spots is at the forefront: without the simultaneous departures of Adli and Bennacer, there would be no room for the French midfielder. And while Roma seems far from reaching an agreement, it is easy to predict that another club, most likely from the Premier League, may be interested in the player.

It is no secret that the 2001-born player is a target for Milan: Ibrahimovic himself had mentioned Koné as a still viable option during the presentation press conference for Fofana. But the priority for the club on Via Aldo Rossi right now is to reduce the squad: after the loan with an purchase option of Kalulu to Juve and Pobega to Bologna, Milan is looking to offload two foreign midfielders like Adli and Bennacer to free up space.

Moenchengladbach does not call up Manu Koné: ‘Imminent transfer’. Milan or Roma?

The former, already out of the lists, is expected to leave soon, while the track leading to the Saudi Arabia remains active for the Algerian, but so far, a genuine negotiation does not seem to have taken shape, and timings may stretch since the market in Saudi Arabia will close on October 6. For this reason, it seems unlikely that the Rossoneri will be able to finalize an agreement for Koné in a short period.

Roma, in the meantime, has stated that it has not yet reached any agreement with the German club or the player, thus increasing the chances of seeing the French midfielder, already on the radar of several top European clubs, continue his career with a Premier League team.
