India got its first medal on the second day of the Paris Olympics. Manu Bhaker created history by winning bronze medal in women’s 10m air pistol on Sunday afternoon (July 28). Manu became the first Indian woman to win a medal for India in shooting. It was India’s first medal win in shooting after 12 years.
By winning this medal, this girl from Haryana overcame the failure of the Tokyo Olympics. He was denied a medal at the 2020 Olympics due to problems with his pistol. This time, however, Manu overcame that sorrow by winning the medal. He got bronze by scoring 221.7 points.
After winning a medal in Paris, Manu told the story of the disappointment of the Tokyo Olympics, ‘I was very disappointed after Tokyo. It took me a long time to turn around from there.’
Earlier Manu had won 9 medals in shooting. The Olympic medal of unique status has been added to that list.
