His defense is expected to be taken on by Isidro Solís, former Minister of Justice and leader of Amarillos, who currently shares a law office with Guerra.

Manuel Guerra, former Metropolitan East prosecutor, appeared in recent days linked to the Audios case, after a series of conversations with lawyer Luis Hermosilla came to light related to the investigations he was carrying out at the Public Prosecutor’s Office, such as the Penta and Dominga case.

In view of this situation, The National Prosecutor’s Office announced the opening of a criminal investigation against the former prosecutor to investigate the possible delivery of information with Hermosilla “on investigative cases under the Public Prosecutor’s Office, such as the so-called Penta case, the Dominga case and the Exalmar case, as well as on the criminal case against former PDI director Héctor Espinosa Valenzuela.”

Given this scenario, ADN radio reported that Manuel Guerra resigned from the Universidad San Sebastián, where he worked as a teacher, in addition to leaving his position in the Supreme Court of Amarillos.

In a statement sent to the board of directors of the community, Guerra explained his decision, pointing out that “I do not in any way wish for the criminal situation I am going through to serve as grounds for unjust attacks on our community or its members for whom I have a deep affection and love.”

For their part, Amarillos thanked Manuel Guerra for “his commitment and work, and his resignation has been accepted. In addition, the steps established by our internal regulations for his replacement in the institutional body of which he was a member have been initiated.”

His defense is expected to be taken up by Isidro Solís, former Minister of Justice and leader of Amarilloswho currently shares a law office with Guerra.
