Manuel Neuer and late insight

by times news cr

FC Bayern have turned the corner after last season without a title and are top of the Bundesliga table at the turn of the year. However, the people of Munich cannot be completely satisfied and relaxed – this is particularly true for sports director Max Eberl.

The talks about new contracts for captain Manuel Neuer and midfield star Jamal Musiala are said to be on the home stretch, and FC Bayern is at least largely back on track in terms of sport. So everything is fine at FC Bayern? Barely.

On the one hand, the contracts have obviously not yet been signed and details are probably unclear. On the other hand, the contracts of Thomas Müller, Alphonso Davies, Joshua Kimmich, Leroy Sané, Eric Dier and Sven Ulreich expire next summer. And the future of players like Leon Goretzka and Serge Gnabry (both contracts until 2026) and Kingsley Coman (until 2027) is still open.

The players whose contract ends in the summer can officially talk to other interested clubs about a move from January 1st. This probably doesn’t improve Bayern’s negotiating position any more than the fact that sports director Max Eberl is supposed to increase the quality of the squad while lowering the salary level.

And of course fans and club bosses alike want Eberl to be able to present one or two new stars – for example Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz.

The big question for the new year: Is all this only possible with a real, renewed renovation? Or put in another way:
