It will be more than four years since Argentine legend Diego Maradona passed away. Even after so long, the work of unraveling the mystery of the death of this popular football star has not stopped. Maradona’s new cause of death has now been revealed. A recent medical report claims that cocaine may be one of the causes of his death.
Maradona died of cardiac arrest on November 25, 2020 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Maradona was then thought to have suffered a heart attack. However, the eight doctors and nurses who were on duty at the time of Maradona’s death have since been investigated for negligence in the death of the patient.
And this is where the problem arises. Two of the eight people who were investigated were Maradona’s psychiatrist Augustina Kosashov and Dr. Leopoldo Luc. Research into the cause of Maradona’s heart attack was conducted at the request of his lawyers. There are different reports.
According to the report of the examiner Pablo Ferrari, ‘Maradona’s rapid and uncertain heart rate at that time may have the effect of an external factor. It could be drugs like cocaine.’
Maradona’s daughter, Giannina Maradona, was upset after this information came to light. In protest of this new report, Giannina brought forward the results of the autopsy report – Maradona’s cause of death was pulmonary edema. Giannina said, ‘From May 9, 2004, my father stopped taking cocaine. The autopsy report also proved that the day the father went to heaven, his heart stopped working.
‘His voice sounded robotic that day because something was happening to his lungs. Everyone in the world knows that he is a heart patient. Still no medication was given for heart disease. And no one even looked at his lungs. Everyone was busy cleaning the room, emptying the accounts.’ – added Maradona.
Giannina feels that those under investigation for negligence are actually guilty, ‘They are here today because they did not do their job properly. Now they are doing this to save themselves from going to jail. I am not afraid of anything. I must kill them if necessary. I cannot be silenced before that.’
