Son Selvan Vijay Sethupathi unexpectedly entered the shooting set of Marakkar. The video also shows Vijay Sethupathi watching the shooting and later talking to Mohanlal and Priyadarshan.

The film took two and a half years to complete. Apart from Mohanlal, the film also stars Manju Warrier, Arjun Sarja, Prabhu, Keerthi Suresh, Pranav Mohanlal, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Suhasini, Sunil Shetty, Nedumudi Venu and Fazil.
