jpnn.comJAKARTA – Persib Bandung captain Marc Klok was sad because he was not called by Indonesian National Team Coach Shin Tae Yong to the Garuda Squad for the third round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers for the Asian zone.

Klok was not included in the list of players called up by Shin for the match held on September 5, 2024 against Saudi Arabia. The Indonesian national team will also host Australia on September 10.

Shin Tae Yong has released the names of the players who have been called up to strengthen Garuda Indonesia.

However, Marc Klok’s name is not there, even though he performed well with Persib Bandung and led Maung Bandung to win the 2023/2024 League 1.

Apparently, this does not guarantee that the naturalized player will be called by the South Korean coach.

From Persib, reportedly only Dimas Drajad was called by Shin Tae to strengthen the Indonesian National Team in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in the Asian zone.

“Yes, of course I’m sad because I always wanted to play for the country, last season I was champion and should have been in the national team,” said Klok, Wednesday (28/8).

Even so, Klok still respects Shin Tae Yong’s decision. This actually makes Klok more motivated to perform better in order to wear the Red and White uniform again.
