jpnn.com – Marc Marquez took responsibility for the incident involving his younger brother, Alex Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia at the 2024 Aragon MotoGP.
It is known that Alex and Bagnaia failed to finish after being involved in an incident on the 18th lap.
Both riders crashed and fell while battling for position. Luckily, Alex and Bagnaia escaped serious injury.
However, this incident clearly harmed Bagnaia who was chasing points from his rival, Jorgi Martin, who currently leads the 2024 MotoGP standings.
Marquez, as Alex’s older brother and the winner of the 2024 Aragon MotoGP, defended his younger brother.
According to him, Alex was on the right track, and did not know that Bagnaia would overtake him.
“He (Alex Marquez, ed) was on the right track. However, when you are in that corner, he didn’t expect Pecco (Bagnaia) to be there,” said Marquez as reported by Crash.
Furthermore, Marquez assessed that the accident involving Alex and Bagnaia was purely bad luck on the part of the two riders.
