Marc Márquez will miss his third consecutive Grand Prix. According to information provided by HRC, Marc passed his last medical check-up at the Ruber Internacional Hospital this past Tuesday, four weeks after breaking the first metacarpal of the right hand and undergo surgery in this same hospital.
The team assures that the clinical and radiological evolution was considered satisfactory, however, due to the nature of the fracture and the time elapsed, the medical team led by Dr. Roger de Oña together with Márquezhave decided to continue with their recovery and preparation for the next few weeksalso skipping the appointment in Jerez.
In principle, Marc Márquez has indicated the French Grand Prix, from May 12 to 14, as a possible date to return to the slopes if everything goes well during the next two weeks.
“Yesterday we did another CT scan and it has been confirmed that, despite the fact that the lesion is evolving favorablye, the bone has not yet finished healing and racing in Jerez was risky“explained Márquez. “Together with the medical team, we have decided not to take any chances, wait two more weeks and return to Le Mans.”
