The Superbike World Championship will welcome a new team in 2024, el Marc VDS Racing. The Belgian structure has just made official this Thursday their assault on the WorldSBK paddock next season, an adventure in which they will be accompanied by the most successful manufacturer of the moment, Ducati, with a Panigale V4 R that they will entrust to the hands of Sam Lowes, pilot who currently competes in the Moto2 World Championship with Marc VDS Racing.

For both Lowes and Marc VDS Racing, the move to WorldSBK is the continuation of a fruitful relationship that began in the Moto2 World Championship in 2020. The 32-year-old has reaped to date seven victories, 15 podiums and 12 pole positions with the team owned by billionaire brewer, Marc Van der Straten.

Lowes, 32, has previously raced in the WorldSBK paddock when he won the Supersport world title in 2013, and is determined to end his 10-year stint in the Grand Prix paddock in style, starting with his home round at Silverstone in early August.

The Marc VDS Racing Team faces this new project in WorldSBK with the clear objective and ambition of replicating its successes in the Moto2 World Championship, where it has achieved more than 100 podiums and He has won three world titles in 2014, 2017 and 2019. The Belgian structure will maintain its current structure in Moto2 and MotoE, two teams that will operate jointly with its new Superbike structure.
