Giorgia Meloni, Matteo Salvini, Antonio Tajani, and Maurizio Lupi announced that the candidate of the Center-right for the Presidency of the Liguria Region is Marco Bucci, the current Mayor of Genoa. This is reported in a joint statement from the leaders of the center-right.

“Marco Bucci will be the center-right candidate for the elections in Liguria. A competent person and a great mayor who, thanks to the Genoa model, has managed to revive his city after the collapse of the Morandi Bridge and who, from October 28, will be a great governor in service of Liguria. Go Marco, let’s win!”. Thus wrote the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, and leader of the League, Matteo Salvini, in a post on X.

“A great man and a great mayor, he will be a great governor for Liguria. The choice of Marco Bucci as presidential candidate represents the continuity and strengthening of the work done in recent years, which has seen Genoa reborn under his leadership. He has been able to face complex situations such as the reconstruction of the Morandi bridge, the management of the health pandemic, and the economic and infrastructural revitalization of the city.” So stated the Deputy Minister of MIT, Edoardo Rixi. “His vision of a modern and competitive Liguria, capable of enhancing the territory and attracting investments, is fully in line with the values of the League and the united center-right,” Rixi said. “Marco Bucci is the right person to overcome the challenges of the future and lead Liguria with solid and reliable leadership.”
