As Czech Television launched the 14th season of StarDance on October 10, 2026, hosts Marek Eben and Tereza Kostková announced that this edition will be their final time anchoring the ballroom competition after two decades on the air.
Twentieth Anniversary Season Marks the Final Bow for Iconic Hosts
Marek Eben and Tereza Kostková confirmed right at the start of the broadcast that this run is their last together. The fourteenth season of StarDance brought viewers back to the ballroom on October 10, 2026. The entire schedule of live broadcasts runs on ČT1 starting at 20:00, with the grand finale planned for December 12, 2026, and streaming options available on the iVysílání platform.

The program, which is based on a format licensed from the BBC, first premiered in 2006.
Opening Night Features Strong Performances and Early Injury
According to Czech Television, Petra Nesvačilová had a bruised ankle that prevented her from continuing. Though she could not compete, Nesvačilová appeared on the floor during the first broadcast alongside Filip Hudlický to perform an adjusted, unscored version of a waltz to the song Anywhere but Here
while in tears. While the premiere night did not feature any official elimination according to competition rules, it was not without heavy emotion.

Luciana Tomášová and Robin Ondráček secured 27 points. On the competitive side, actor and singer Vojtěch Dyk set an early benchmark. Richard Genzer joked that he hates talented people and thanked Czech Television for constantly lowering his ego, while declaring the routine the absolute best dance of the evening.
Changes to the Judging Panel and Fresh Competition Formats
Alongside returning fixtures Tatiana Drexler and Richard Genzer, the panel welcomed back Zdeněk Chlopčík following a one-season hiatus. Choreographer Jana Burkiewiczová joined as a new addition.

Creative producer Lucie Kapounová noted that preparing the jubilee season is a challenge for the entire team, aiming to tell a fresh story rather than solely relying on twenty years of nostalgia.
In the audience, Sara Sandeva enjoyed support from a large family fan club that included her mother, father, brother, husband Jakub Prachař, mother-in-law Dana Batulková, and sister-in-law Mariana Prachařová, all dressed in elegant dark tones.
