Marhaba 2024: More than 20,000 MREs transited through the port of Al Hoceima

AL Hoceima – Some 20,908 Moroccans Residing Abroad (MRE) have transited through the port of Al Hoceima since the launch of Operation “Marhaba 2024” until last Monday.

In a statement to MAP, the director of the port of Al Hoceima, Adil El Bardi, indicated that the passengers who transited via the port of Al Hoceima are divided between 17,946 passengers coming to Morocco and 2,962 leaving for abroad.

Furthermore, Mr. El Bardi noted that a total of 5,305 vehicles transited through the port of Al Hoceima, including 4,490 incoming vehicles and 815 outgoing vehicles, a decrease of around 20% compared to the same period in 2023.

The number of arrivals, both passengers and vehicles, has increased by 17% since the establishment of the Al Hoceima-Motril link, he said.

He added that the National Ports Agency is continuing its efforts to improve the port’s facilities, through the installation of state-of-the-art safety and comfort equipment, as well as to strengthen coordination with the various stakeholders concerned in order to guarantee good conditions for welcoming passengers.
