The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Maria Gabriel awarded the employees of the Bulgarian Embassy in Egypt for their efforts in the evacuation of Bulgarian citizens from the Gaza Strip.

This happened during the meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister with the Bulgarian community in the embassy of our country in Cairo. It was attended by our country’s ambassador to Egypt Deyan Katrachev and ministers Todor Tagarev, Georgi Gvozdeikov, Bogdan Bogdanov, Milena Stoicheva and Rumen Radev, who are part of the Bulgarian delegation, BTA reported.

According to information from the embassy, ​​about 150-200 Bulgarian citizens live in Egypt.

Earlier today, Gabriel held meetings with Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli and Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry. In the new administrative capital of Egypt, which is 45 km from Cairo.

The first meeting of the Joint Commission for Cooperation between Bulgaria and Egypt was also held. Topics of common interest of the two countries were discussed, deepening of cooperation, three agreements were signed – on mutual exemption from the requirements for holding short-term residence visas for holders of diplomatic and service passports, on cooperation in the field of defense, on cooperation in the field of natural gas.
