It is a long, mysterious procession, which parades along the narrow sidewalk of this pretty street in historic Paris. There are nearly 200 of them, coming from all over France. A large contingent of Parisians but especially Northerners disembarked at dawn from the TGV from Lille. They have an appointment this April 15, at 9 a.m., for a special meeting. Equipped with their strictly personal invitation, they pass through a porte cochère and enter a discreet conference venue, wedged between the Institut de France and the remains of the ramparts of the watchtower of King Philippe Auguste, a few meters from the Seine.
