Pop star Marie Reim, daughter of pop singer Michelle and Matthias Reim, wants to win the German ESC final with her song “Naiv” and then go to Malmö and represent Germany in the “Eurovision Song Contest”.

Her famous mother gave her a special gift for this occasion: a red dress that Michelle herself wore on stage. In 2010 she appeared in a TV show by Florian Silbereisen. Now daughter Marie should get it and win her ticket for the ESC.
The special feature: The dress was specially adjusted and changed a little. “I feel very comfortable in my mum’s dress and I fit in well. Of course it had to be repaired in some places, it’s a bit older,” the 23-year-old revealed to the “Bild” newspaper. At the finale, she wears the red glittery dress “with great pride” and more skin, because in contrast to Mama Michelle, Marie’s dress looks more transparent.
“Marie always got my clothes”
But it’s normal for the 23-year-old to help herself to her mother’s wardrobe. And Michelle would like to pass on her clothes to her daughter. “Marie has always received my clothes,” says the proud mother. And she knows best how Marie is feeling right now, after all, the pop singer herself appeared at the ESC 23 years ago, and Marie was also there as a baby.
Her dress at the time was very similar to the red glitter dress and at least helped her achieve a higher ranking. With the song “True Love Lives”, Michelle was able to take eighth place and now hopes to see her daughter further up the winner’s podium. “This dress suits her, and I think it will bring her happiness.”
As Eurovision tells us on Instagram, the stage show for Marie’s appearance has already been planned and rehearsed. She won’t be seen on stage all alone: ”Four dancers in sleeveless black tops join them – from the second verse onwards the singer goes among them and goes down the stairs.” And like Marie herself, the dancers rely on bare skin : “And not only that: Marie’s dancers are suddenly shirtless too.” But the preliminary decision will only be shown on television from 10 p.m.
Marie Reim’s desire to become a singer doesn’t come from just anywhere. After all, she has two famous parents who also sing on stages around the world. Even as a child, she dreamed of a musical career, and her mother’s clothes played an important role early on: “I put on my mother’s stage clothes, which were way too big at the time, and gave my own concerts in front of the mirror – back then, without an audience.”
