Russian singer Marina Khlebnikova, injured in a fire in her apartment, began to breathe on her own, according to her friends. Doctors assess the artist’s condition as “difficult, but already stable,” KP.RU quoted them as saying.

Previously, a surgeon at the N.V. Sklifosovsky Research Institute for Emergency Medicine Igor Sharipov suggested that the singer’s recovery will be long and she will need several operations, including skin transplantation. She received burns on 20% of her body – her face, chest, legs and lungs were injured.

Upon arrival at the hospital, Khlebnikova was put into a drug-induced coma and connected to a ventilator. The friends organized a collection of blood to obtain plasma.

A fire in Khlebnikova’s Moscow apartment occurred on November 19 in a two-level apartment in a house on Ratnaya Street, five people were evacuated. The cause of the fire could be carelessness when smoking.
