The government representative, Pavlos Marinakis, took responsibility on Wednesday morning (6/12) and stated that the green electricity tariff is the one that benefits the consumer the most.

The new colored tariffs have caused confusion for consumers, while even energy consultants find it difficult to give a clear answer. As for the Minister of Energy, Thodoros Skylakakis, he stated that it would be good for consumers to make their decisions in the new year.

The government representative, Pavlos Marinakis, however, speaking to ANT1 on Thursday morning (6/12) seemed sure that the green tariff is the best option for consumers.

Initially he said that the invoices already existed, it’s just that each company had different programs. Now the 30 different invoices become 3.

He then added that “the green tariff is the one that benefits the consumer the most, as he is given the opportunity to compare the prices every month and if he finds a lower price to change provider, without penalty” while he added that “an alternative is the blue tariff in which the consumer if he wants to make a contract for 1 or 2 years and then sees it again”.

Yellow is the one with the most flexibility, but probably also the most risk.

Regarding the tax bill and the contested presumptions for freelancers, Pavlos Marinakis said “we had said that we respect the consultation, without moving away from the core of the bill. An entrepreneur cannot have less income than his employees. We had said that there can be no horizontal measure. We start with an assumption derived from official state data: 71% of freelancers claim less than minimum wage. In this percentage are also young people, there are also those who work with a block, there are women in pregnancy or childbirth and they are excluded or there are others who say that while I have an income of less than 10,000 euros, I have income from other sources, for example from rents or have my husband has a big income and that’s how we survive”.

“The cries of those who try to do revolutionary gymnastics through the mobilizations are in the minority. It is utopian to compare the tax bill with the Katrougalou law”, answered Mr. Marinakis, commenting on reactions from sectors such as lawyers.
