“It smells like the holidays…”, smiles Marine Le Pen, leaving the press conference room this Wednesday, July 19. Before taking up her summer quarters in La Trinité-sur-Mer (Morbihan) in early August, the president of the RN group in the Assembly got down to her last vacation notebooks: presenting her “plan” after the urban riots from the end of June… two weeks after LR. But faithful to its strategy of “overhanging”, Marine Le Pen refused to react “hot” to events.

As had been hinted over the past week, the president of the RN group in the Assembly confirms that her troops will oppose the emergency bill allowing the government to act by ordinance to reduce the delays of urban planning for the reconstruction of buildings destroyed or damaged during the urban violence that followed the death of young Nahel, killed by a policeman in Nanterre (Hauts-de-Seine), on June 27.

A text, adopted Tuesday at first reading in the Senate, and which constitutes, according to her, a “real shame”, because it returns, explains the leader of the National Rally, not to the communities to take charge of the repair but to the rioters , even if they are insolvent. “If they have to pay until the end of their days, they will pay until the end of their days,” she says, ensuring that she reflects “the bottom line of the thoughts of tens of thousands (sic) of mayors and tens of millions of French people.

Measures largely drawn from the 2022 program

Denouncing a “nihilistic drive coupled with anti-French hatred” among the perpetrators of degradations, Marine Le Pen rejects any City policy: “It is not a question of putting the ashes of burnt buildings under the carpet of dumped billions, but to basically deal with a flammable situation (…)”, she diagnoses.

“With the RN, the solutions exist. All that remains is to apply them,” she says, advertising a long Prévert-style inventory of proposals that embrace both criminal repression, immigration policy and the fact, for example, of to “develop national education courses highlighting the glorious pages of our history”.

In detail, the measures are mostly drawn from the pre-existing catalog of the presidential candidate, in 2022. Some have been added, such as the costing of the riots at the Court of Auditors, the creation of a central office for the fight against crime and urban violence or a plan for verifying the residence permits of the occupants of low-rental housing.

“If I said that there is no risk, I would not deserve to be a politician”

But of “civil war”, Marine Le Pen does not speak. On the YouTube Legend channel, Jordan Bardella however evoked July 14, “Obviously, scenes of civil war”. “We are on the verge of civil war in a certain number of districts”, warned the president of the RN.

“It would be crazy to rule out this risk,” rebounds Marine Le Pen. If I said that there is no risk, I would not deserve to be a politician, ”replies the one who has been striving for months not to express positions that are too divisive or anxiety-provoking. I can not wait for the vacation…
